Understanding marketing enables you to scale businesses, save burning companies and keep stores functioning. Whether we like it or not, marketing is always being done. In the next 3 minutes I’m going to show you how marketing will get you new customers coming, recurring customers to keep buying and to do what is supposed to do; sell more. Let’s get into it.

Do you know why most businesses stagnate?
Because they don’t understand MARKETINGGGGGGG.
And most businesses in the world lack effective marketing.
Marketing makes or breaks your reputation.
You might not think about how marketing works but your brain knows exactly what good marketing is. Either you notice it or you don’t.
Understand this and you’ll start seeing it everywhere. It’s like having matrix powers.
How To Spot Good Marketing
Think about your local area. The most crowded street. Do you spot advertising?
The drill you bought from old friend Jack. You always go there when you need stuff fixed.
Question is - Why do you buy it from him? Why not someone else?
I’ll give you some examples.
“Best Almond Salad In The World”
Or
“Your Local Exotic Massage Therapist”
Or
“Coffee Is Your Essential Fuel To Life”
You know what they all have in common?
CLICHÉ. Sounds like a broken record.
Yes, the annoying radio song repeating the chorus 15 times in a row.
Out of the cliché zone.
Instantly stand out from competitors. Because that’s all they do.
‘The best [enter the service] in the world’
‘The most famous [enter the product] in the entire galaxy’
NO. Cliché. Repetitive. Boring.
I will not pay attention. My brain refuses. I’ve seen it 129 million times.
Here’s what you wanna do. Make them come and see what’s going on.
What is this guy talking about? I wanna know.
This is what makes people curious. Then your work/product does the rest.
You wanna be the topic of small talk. Be the gossip in your town. Make the NEWS.
This will result in MORE SALES.
Fixing Marketing in 2 seconds
Alright, let’s fix these.
“Best Almond Salad In The World”
Cliché and boring. Your salad is probably not the best anyways.
Here’s an effective version.
“Hungry? Fresh Almond Salad Just For You”
See how that communicates to your brain effectively.
Next one:
“Your Local Exotic Massage Therapist”
Weird. Makes me wanna run from him.
Let’s fix this.
“Feeling Tired? Relaxing Massage Session”
Let them know you understand their needs. Present the problem. Give the solution.
“Coffee Is Your Essential Fuel To Life”
NO. Not advertising a fuel station here.
Alright, let’s fix this one easily.
“Tired? Warm Coffee On The Go”
That’s it. All you need to do is get attention by letting them know you understand their needs.
Everyone is tired, all the time.
You have the solution. Present it. Make it straight to the point.
Sit down. Watch them come to you like ants chasing a birthday cake.
Marketing Is Not Branding
The majority of businesses think that advertising is making intelligent phrases or pretty billboards.
No. Do not fall into the branding trap.
Those TV car advertisements are made by billion dollar companies.
Yes, with a B.
Most likely you don’t have that kind of budget and that’s okay. They suck anyways.
They’re made to please the committee board of the company, not to sell effectively.
Having Leonardo Di Caprio chopping up wood in the middle of the desert, while a fox watches everything from the inside of a Jaguar is just dumb. A waste of money.
And yes I know … This would perform better than the current one.
I just fixed Jaguar marketing in 2 seconds. That’s because they suck.
Nothing in this ad makes me wanna buy the car.
They have a famous actor. Wood. And a fox that probably doesn’t even want to be there in the first place.
This is what I’m thinking while watching this circus.
Marketing is supposed to make me wanna know more about the product. To instantly have the buy button. Give them all my money.
Don’t aspire to do these dumb video ads.
Big companies were once great. When they were small.
Let’s stop using cliché advertising. Let’s stop saying that our product is the best in town, because no one really cares and most likely it isn’t.
Good advertising comes from solving problems.
So let’s be effective.
Highlight the problem. Agitate it. Present the solution.
This is the FORMULA.
Take charge of your advertising.
Be effective. Sell more.
